Steam Hardware Survey: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, GTX 1650, 1650 Ti, Radeon RX 590 Bestselling GPUs of September

It’s been a while since we covered the Steam hardware survey, mainly because nothing was really changing. Last month, that is, September however, saw some newer graphics cards make their way into the Steam database, including the GeForce GTX 16 series cards, the RTX 2070 Super and the Radeon RX Vega 11 (found in the Ryzen Zen+ APUs). Let’s dig in!

Bestselling GPUs of September 2019

In September, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 2060 was the bestselling graphics card among Steam gamers, with the GeForce GTX 1650 and 1660 Ti trailing by inches. This is actually very expected: The RTX 2060 is selling for unbeatable prices ever since the RTX 2060 and 2070 Supers hit the market. The GeForce GTX 1650 and 1660 Ti are gaining a lot of traction in the gaming laptop space. Paired with AMD’s Ryzen 3000 (Picasso) APUs, these GPUs make for some really well priced portable rigs. ASUS’ TUF lineup is a shining example of the Ryzen-GeForce powered notebooks.

On the AMD side, surprisingly, it was the Radeon RX 590 that was the biggest winner with a hefty 0.22% gain in September, followed by the RX 580 2048SP and the Radeon RX Vega 11 found on the Ryzen APUs.

Among the retirees, the GeForce GTX 1060 saw the highest decline. The GPU saw a drop of 0.40%, the biggest we’ve ever seen for this particular GPU since the mining insanity. Other than that, the GTX 960 also saw a notable drop of 0.21%. The rest of the card shares stayed more or less undisturbed.

Despite the landslide victory of the Ryzen 3000 CPUs in many markets around the world, Steam users seem to be slow to jump onto the hype train and although we’re seeing users sift towards red camp, the change is gradual but drawn out.
